To LA County and City of Long Beach:

The San Gabriel River & surrounding area was cleaned up and kept reasonably homeless free until recently. There are more homeless flooding into the areas from up river. The areas of Carson/SG River, Carson/Willow, Coyote Creek Willow/Wardlow, Loynes/Studebaker Bridge, are getting inundated again with homeless (moved from other areas) to the "less voter visible" areas of the SG River and LA river. This results in an increase of homeless and crime at Towne Center and the neighborhoods adjacent to the riverbed. The LA River is increasing in population as well. Reducing attention to these areas will increase the homeless population and the associated crime and destruction (not to mention all the trash they dump in and along the sides of the rivers). The people are telling us they (the homeless) are being pushed south down the SG River to Long Beach. This is unacceptable. We need the monthly or bi-monthly river sweeps/clean ups again and the officers back on the job assisting with those sweeps.

It also would not hurt to do some "bike patrols" daily on that river after 4pm to stop the rampant gas powered and illegal "e-motos" doing over 50 mph on a 6 ft wide path (3 ft per side) Normal cyclists are "white knuckling" as the motos pass you from either direction. You all saw this story.

We have bcc'd media and residents (and river Cyclists who see the problem close up daily) on this post and they can reply to all as they see fit. We will also be posting this email on our website where it will remain findable via google searches for years to come. If anyone makes a substantive reply worthy of posting we will post it as well.
